Despite a weekend of wild weather, Monett City Utilities crews kept most community members powered all weekend, and the largest, most severe outage was not caused by weather, but by a traffic crash Sunday morning.IDF2
At 2:16 a.m. Sunday, a semi-truck and trailer collided with an AT&T communication line, breaking a utility pole on Chappel Drive near IDF, causing an outage for 149 customers. Power was re-routed and all power was restored by 3:47 a.m. The broken utility pole was replaced by 2:30 p.m.
In addition to the crash, a squirrel caused an outage for 15 customers near South Rosewood at 8:37 a.m. Pwer was restored to those customers by 9 a.m.
The only weather-related outage came at West Crestwood when a tree limb collided with a power line, effecting 47 customers from 7:06 p.m. to 8:32 p.m. on Sunday.
