If you need to make a police report, have an officer or animal control respond to a non-emergency call,  dial 417-235-4241 option 1 to speak to Central Dispatch. For all other inquiries dial 417-235-4241 option 2.

For all emergency calls, please dial 911. The lobby is open 24 hours a day for emergency situations. There is a phone located inside the lobby at the front window. Pick up the phone and someone will assist you.

 

Report A Crime

You can report a crime by contacting Monett Communications at 1901 E. Cleveland or by calling 417-235-4241, Option 2. An officer may be dispatched to assist you. To report a crime in person, come to the front desk of the police department where an officer may be dispatched to you. Take note that this may require some waiting. If you have an emergency call 911 immediately.  Anonymous tips can be left on the Crime Stoppers Hotline 1-888-635-8477.

Incident reports can be requested from police records, 1901 E. Cleveland, or by calling 417-235-4241, Option 2, Monday through Friday 8:00 to 4:00.

Vehicle Accident Reports
If you are in a non-injury accident with minimal damage, pull off the roadway and call the police department at 417-235-4241, Option 2. While you are waiting for an officer to arrive, if other drivers are involved, exchange information with them. Have your insurance card and driver's license available for the officer. If you are in an injury accident, call 911 immediately and wait for officers to arrive.

Traffic Crash reports can be requested at police records, 1901 E. Cleveland, or by calling 417-235-4241, Option 2, Monday through Friday 8:00 to 5:00. A crash report or incident report is ready three to five business days after the accident/incident has occurred. Sometimes this process may be delayed due to the seriousness of the accident/incident or if the report is still under supervisor review.

If you are involved in an accident on private property exchange information with the other subject, (telephone, insurance, address) and file a claim with your insurance company.  If there is an injury or someone has left the scene call 911.

Telephone Report
A telephone report of a past-tense crime where there is no evidence to collect can be made to the police department by calling 417-235-4241, Option 2, where your name and phone number will be taken. An officer will call you back, usually that same day or following Monday if it is a weekend. If your crime is an emergency or an in-progress crime, call 911.

How do I get my property/evidence back?
Contact the Evidence Custodian at 1901 E. Cleveland or by calling 417-235-4241, Option 2, Our Evidence Custodian does not work a set schedule, so an appointment is required. Property/evidence cannot be released on weekends. Due to department policy, property and evidence can only be released by an evidence custodian. 

How do I get an abandoned property tow form?

These forms may be obtained by going to the Department of Revenue website at dor.mo.gov and searching for form number 4669.

Can I call someone in jail?

Unfortunately, inmates cannot accept any incoming calls and messages will not be relayed to inmates. Inmates may call collect from their cell. If your cell phone has not been set to accept collect calls they will not be able to contact you.

How do I get someone out of jail if they have a bond?

You can either go through a bondsman or pay the bond directly to the jail, which can be paid at the police department. The jail accepts cash only in the exact amount of the bond.  If they have multiple bonds you will need the exact amount for all bonds.

What can I bring/not bring to my relative or friend in jail?

Medications and must have the inmate's name on it.

The car was towed during the arrest, where is it?

It is the Officer’s or Deputy’s discretion to have your vehicle towed. The vehicle may have been left where you were arrested or towed to a local impound lot. It also depends on which agency arrested you.
