Because our local lineworkers kept damage to Monett’s electrical system to a minimum during Monday’s storm, they were able to hit the road yesterday, Tuesday, May 7 and today, Wednesday, May 8 to assist the community of Carthage in restoring power and repair damage caused by the storm.
The Missouri Public Utilities Alliance contacted the City of Monett at approximately 1:30 p.m. Tuesday to request help with repairs in Carthage.Carthage 1
Monett Utilities crews dispatched three linemen, a bucket truck and digger truck at 2 p.m. That crew remained in Carthage until 9 p.m. to help restore electricity to residents in that community.
Today, Wednesday, May 8, five more linemen from Monett, along with a bucket truck and digger, to continue efforts to restore power throughout Carthage.
Crews will continue to work in Carthage for as long as necessary today to help our neighboring community. However, if today’s forecast storms cause damage locally, the crews will be recalled to Monett to manage repairs here before resuming work in Carthage.
