Payment Options

Utility Bill Payment Options

1. Automatic Withdrawal (ACH) – Offered for Utility Bills Only
    • Payment is automatically withdrawn on the due date from a checking or savings account.
    • There is no fee for this service.
    • To be eligible for automatic withdrawal (ACH), the customer must be the account holder listed on the utility billing and on the checking/saving account.
    • Automatic bank drafts returned for non-sufficient funds or other reason will be subject to a $20.00 penalty. Three returned drafts will result in removal from the Automatic Withdrawal Program for a twelve-month period.

2. Online (Xpress Bill Pay) Using Credit Card, Debit Card, or E-Check
    • All commercial and residential customers will be eligible.
    • It’s free to sign up for online bill payment at www.xpressbillpay.com.
    • If you have an Internet connection and an email address or phone number, you can now pay your bill online. You are also able to “opt in” to paperless billing and receive an email or text notification when your bill is ready to view. It’s fast, it’s easy, and you no longer have to write a check each month or find a stamp when it’s time to send in your payment.

3. Pay by Phone – Starting March 20, 2023
    • Call 888-605-1060 for our Interactive Voice Response system.
    • Transaction fees will apply.
4. U.S. Mail
    • Include payment coupon.
    • Use the envelope provided for your utility bill.
    • Write the utility account # or Invoice # on your check or money order.
    • Make check payable to City of Monett.
    • Allow at least 7 – 10 business days for processing.
    • Remit payment to City of Monett, 217 5th Street, Monett, MO 65708                     
5. Drop Boxes Located at City Hall
    • Check or money order only.
    • Payments received in the drop boxes before 8:00 a.m. on the due date are considered on-time.
    • These boxes, labeled “CITY OF MONETT OFFICIAL DROP BOX,” are located inside the west main entrance (walk-up) and east entrance (drive-up) to City Hall at 217 5th Street.

6. In Person – Collections Office at City Hall         
    • We are open Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Holiday closings are posted on our website www.cityofmonett.com.
    • Please bring your entire bill/statement.
    • City of Monett accepts cash, check, money order, and credit/debit cards. Starting March 20, 2023, there will be a 3.5% transaction fee on credit/debit cards.
